Kaylees Journey

" I really came across spin by chance, working at Little Rock in Inglewood and printing for Stax! Group classes, or really any fitness classes terrified me because of my lack of confidence and not being in the best shape. After meeting Em and Katie a few times when they would come to pick up their printing, I finally got brave and decided to try a class.

After the first class, I was hooked. I had no idea how to pump or dip, or even come close to getting on any sort of a beat..but the people, the atmosphere and the music... I knew right away I wanted to be a part of this community, and I wanted it to be a part of me!

Despite how much I loved it, for months, I wouldn't go by myself, only if I had a friend to come with me, and always hiding quietly in the far back corner.

Then Canada day came. I didn't have anybody to go with, but I desperately wanted to ride! Em, Steph H, and Marianne did a three person team teach, and I decided I couldn't miss it. That was the real beginning for me! I started going to most rise and grind classes, and at that time, the lovely Mel G was teaching Thursday and Friday mornings. By the second week, she had me in the front row. Not by choice at first to be honest lol...but now I wouldn't have it any other way! I started noticing myself improve. With help from numerous instructors I found my lead leg which helped me find the beat. Once I found the beat, the choreo started falling into place! The better I got, the more fun I had! The more fun I had, the more I came around, the more I came around, the more I got to know all of the incredible people who work for and are involved in the studio, and they all got to know me. And really wanted to! I have never felt so empowered, accepted, appreciated and loved by a group of people, and it grows more and more each week!

As I continue my journey to become the best version of myself that I can be, I find myself constantly inspired by and forever grateful for Stax. They welcomed me with open arms, and have truly changed my life for the better.

Whether I am whooing on a bike at the front of a class, or greeting clients behind the front desk, Stax is my happy place!"
