Building an Army of Strong Women - RECAP!

Building an Army of Strong Women

This month, we created something awesome with our friends at The Sweat Science, and called it Building an Army of Strong Women. Every day, we see women (and men) walk through the doors of this studio, give us and each other their energy and crush every single ride. So many of you participated in special classes with Parts + Labor and Big Girl YYC, the crazy boxing weight tracks with The Sweat Science and our girl power theme rides. Beyond that, you shared your love and strength with us and every other rider at Stax. For that, we thank you.

To celebrate this army of strong women, we asked our community what makes an army of strong women. Here’s what they said. (Psst. Get ready for ALL THE FEELS.)

What was your favourite thing about participating in this campaign?

Being able to work with Emily and Katie to create a safe space for my BGYYC Tribe to try something out of our comfort zone. To be able to hear feedback afterwards that people felt safe to do what their bodies needed and that the STAX space allowed them to do that is pretty incredible.

What do you think makes an army of strong women?

An army of strong women starts by taking up space. Remembering that we are allowed to exist and as women, as people, we can speak and share ideas. Our bodies can fill up space and we are allowed  to change our minds and bring forward new ideas. We are the ones who decide what our choices will be. Being a part of this campaign, being surrounded by an army of strong women who want to set goals and create change - that is just the beginning.

Who inspires you to be stronger, love deeper, work harder?

My wife, Kristie. She encourages me to keep moving and keep pushing through no matter the circumstances! She always come to the table with an alternative and a different way of looking at a situation. We balance each other out in the finest ways and I am grateful for her love every day.

What was your favourite thing about participating in this campaign?

I fell into this campaign, and I'm so ecstatic that it unfolded this way. The incredible Natasha Marshall-Bean asked me to team-teach a class with her at STAX, and it was an uplifting experience.  Yes, I'm one of those "it's meant to be" dreamers. My favourite part about participating was being introduced to so many influential and inspiring women in the community. I am brand new to Calgary, and connecting with like-minded people left me feeling full of passion and fire.

What do you think makes an army of strong women?

One of the greatest discoveries of my life has been the realization that without supporting, lifting and empowering the women around you — your growth as an individual will stall. For too long, women have been conditioned to regard one another as competition, rather than inspiration. To me, an army of strong women is one that recognizes the worth and beauty in one another, and feels pride in helping one another reach our goals, our dreams and desires. Girl power for the win!

Who inspires you to be stronger, love deeper, work harder?

Just because we're an army of strong women doesn't mean that those incredible men supporting our journey can't be recognized! My late brother is the reason behind my passion for living life to the fullest extent. He was always so proud of my every accomplishment, something many people relayed to me after his passing. Where would be without these cheerleaders in our life? Stefan taught me to hold close those you love, and not to waste any time on things that don't "fill your cup", so to speak. Also, a shout-out to my incredible mom, whose quiet strength and leading-from-behind mentality has taught me how to lead humbly, listen closely and know that everyone's stories are worth your time.

What was your favourite thing about participating in this campaign?

My favorite thing about participating in this campaign was connecting with ANOTHER really rad community of beautiful, strong women at STAX. I loved having had an opportunity to work + interact deeper with the founders, the team + the members, it has proved that the message FELT in this space is consistently incredible.  Supportive, electric, inspiring + a little naughty….I’m in LOVE.

What do you think makes an army of strong women?

Belief in the possibility + capability of EACH OTHER. Women who recognize + instill strength, women who celebrate + share in successes + women who love positively + unconditionally.

Who inspires you to be stronger, love deeper, work harder?

I’m incredibly lucky to have a really really rad tribe of babes in my life who are definite fire starters + always always there to lend a hand or a heart when I need it.  But, I gotta say, there are some strong men out there too, who recognize + empower women just as much as they do men. One of those beautiful babes is definitely my husband.  so I often talk about being a strong human, he is one of the strongest I know + has always been my biggest fan.  wild ideas, outta control visions + goals - he’s right there next to me trying to figure out how we can crush it, together.

What was your favourite thing about participating in this campaign?

My favourite thing about participating in this AOSW campaign was that I got to be alongside other amazing and inspirational women who are all unique and powerful in their own ways. I'm glad I was introduced to them, and even got the chance to communicate with a few. This is only the beginning of this movement!

What do you think makes an army of strong women?

Being supportive, and building each other up. When women support each other incredible things happen. You know that cheesy quote "Real queens fix each others crowns!" It's true!!

Who inspires you to be stronger, love deeper, work harder?

I'm continuously trying to surround myself with individuals who are passionate and driven in their own ways and that inspire me to be stronger, love deeper, and work harder! There's so many to name, but i would definitely have to say that my mother will always be my biggest inspiration, as well as my biggest supporter.

To all of you who participated - both men and women - you are an army of strength, love, energy, community, compassion. Thank you for celebrating with us. Let’s ride together.

Your mission has always made me feel so good really. I was going through the edu birdie review and that review as well helped me out a lot. Being empowered and not afraid, that's what we're all after.

Thank you mate for sharing about the EDM Production Techniques Drums tutorial over here and also at college essay services site. This system is pretty hard to understand and use, but once you learn it it works great.
